LITCHFIELD SQUARE

Lots of activity around toward a fantastic multi-use space at Litchfield Square within Litchfield Park. Here is a parks and rec meeting that discusses some of the features:

Also, the construction on Litchfield Road is for a new roundabout at Wigwam Blvd.

MORE HEAVY TRAFFIC ON LITCHFIELD

At this Glendale Planning Commission meeting last week, an industrial complex was approved for Litchfield and Bethany Home (west side), which will, by the developer, draw truck traffic through Bethany Home (Dreaming Summit), north and south on Litchfield, and east/west on Camelback.

There was opposition raised by local residents. Only those within 300 feet of the complex were notified, and the residents are all non-Glendale.

Important to get involved and raise objection to Glendale if this is not the type of traffic you want to see on Litchfield Road.

CAMELBACK TRUCK TRAFFIC

In the last several months the impromptu truck parking on Camelback and El Mirage was put to a stop, with signs posted about overnight parking.

Litchfield Park annexed a part of Camelback east of Dysart and setup a no-thru truck zone, in an effort to stop truck traffic on Camelback to/from the 303. The AZ Truck Association thwarted this ban with potential legislative action and LP put a hiatus on enforcement for a year.
